Somehow Internal Affairs went to number one yesterday on iTunes Electronic Album charts.
I hoped a few people would listen, but never expected to be charting alongside Underworld and Charli XCX - even if it's only for a minute. How long can this last? Seriously!
This was absolutely the result of a social media campaign I started last year with my "P.O.V it's the 80s..." series which grew my Instagram followers from 10K to 400K in a year, and took me from 0 to 250K on TikTok.
In the last couple of months, a boom in A.I aesthetic nostalgia accounts taking the P.O.V concept, alongside comedia Julian Sewell using my music (particularly Badge and gun) in his sketches featuring characters Rocky and Dina, and Paloma Diamond) super-charged the music in the last few weeks.
Just how long any of this can last is anyone's guess, with Internal Affairs charting number 3 in the UK Electronic Album Charts on iTunes but dropping into the 50s two days later. But hey, not bad for a fully independent release by a one-man army!
